Orthotics

Gait Scan Technology

Our clinic uses a combination of technology, history and examination to make Custom Foot Orthotics (orthosis) as well as custom footwear (sandals and shoes). As part of making the correct orthotics for your feet an in depth biomechanical examination and computerized gait analysis is performed. Lifestyle and sporting activities are discussed to ensure the correct orthotic to fit your shoes and feet. A cast of your foot is made in our office and the orthotics are made at the premier orthotic lab in Canada, the Orthotic Group. It takes 10 days for the orthotics to be made based on your foot casts and our prescription. When the orthotics are returned we check each pair for quality then call you for your fitting. At your fitting the orthotics are assessed for accuracy of fit and they are cut to fit your shoes. A follow up visit is done in one month to monitor your response to orthotic therapy.
